good day!

Oh my goodness, I *know* that so many of you are praying for me because I have felt the difference! God's grace is amazing that despite staying up far too late last night planning for today, I woke up refreshed and had a day today where I actually felt like a teacher. That might be counterintuitive for many of you, considering that I in fact am a teacher, but honestly I don't know how much learning goes on in my class on a daily basis. But today, we actually got through science, spelling and social studies before lunch! My kids were actually doing work. Unheard of. That is amazing, trust me. Yay! I have to blog about these sorts of things so that I can look back and say, yes! there actually are some good days! Not that it's not good. It's just really *really* hard.

Oh, now that I am sitting down for pretty much the first time since, well, since I walked into school more than 12 hours ago, the tiredness is starting to set in. I'd better get planning! Thank you thank you for your support and prayers! Yay!

back from retreat

Hey y'all!

About 3 hours ago I got back from retreat at Lake Geneva. Holy cow, it was absolutely beautiful! I never knew what fall could be like until spending this weekend on Lake Geneva with the crisp air and the leaves changing colors. It was absolutely amazing. And it was so *so* good for the community. I have already told some of you about the challenges with community that we've been experiencing. Well, this weekend was a huge healing, reflecting session for us. Not that things are perfect, mind you, but things are a lot better. The tension that has existed in the house has dissipated; we spent Sunday afternoon doing namaste (it is a Sanskrit term used often in yoga that means to recognize the divine in each other) by affirming the ways in which we saw God in each other. It was really powerful. I mean, really. I know that I personally needed to hear the things that were said about me because I didn't recognize how God was working through me. God is amazing. Truly.

Okay, I hate to leave so soon, but I am in the middle of writing lesson plans for the week and preparing a measuring mass lab for tomorrow.

Love you all!
